New Layout

New Layout...is a work in progress. We shall see how this goes.

This week has been stressful, I have a midterm and a speech tomorrow morning (with only an hour to spare in between). I am really, really hoping I can do well on both of these things.

And in order to do that...I guess I should get off this blog, AH!

After my morning is over, I will look forward to at least a couple of days where I can drink coffee and work on my needlepoint.

Also, Oscars on Sunday!! If I have time I'll do a prediction post like last year, although I haven't seen as many of the nominated movies this year. We shall see.

Catch ya on the flip side stinkies!

I Like These...

Some things I like...

To Read:

I'm reading this for a class but I actually really enjoy it. While it isn't an easy read, it is gripping and I feel smarter after I read it. Always a good thing!

I loved this movie. The book is definitely detailed and it is no literary masterpiece (which I don't mind) but so far I love it, I just don't have enough time to read it as often as I'd like.

To Listen to:

\\

Hooks galore. End of story. So dang good.

A new EP from my beloved Eisley. If you have ever listened to their first album "Room Noises" then you will love this.

To Eat:
Larabars! Let me geek out for a moment, these bars are as unprocessed as you can get. The ingredient list is like...4 things long, which means that these are so good for you!! EVERYONE EAT THEM! They are delicious. So far my favorite flavors are Cherry Pie and Lemon Bar. Travis bought me the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip/Cookie Dough flavors so I'll have to get back to ya on those ;)

Good 'ol applesauce! I eat these little cups like its my job. Plus, if you get the natural version, it is basically like eating a whole apple (nutritionally speaking). yummyyummy

To Sip:

I usually go to Starbucks to study and I've started getting their new "Blonde" roast. It is a lighter roast so it doesn't have that burnt taste that some of the Starbucks coffees can have. I look forward to getting a cup of this!

These are just a few of the things I am currently enjoying. Soon I will go back and update my Mom's Birthday post! Her birthday dinner was so much fun.

The Birthday Girl

I'll come back and edit/add photos to this post later but for now...

EVERYONE WISH MY MAMA A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The Birthday Boy

I am feeling a little sentimental.

Because Travis turns 21 on Thursday!! I know, its not the biggest deal but, since I have known him since he was 17, I think I'm allowed to get a little sappy.

Travis is the greatest guy I know. Those that know him will agree. He works hard, he loves everyone around him unconditionally and he has the most positive outlook on life (seriously though, we should all try to be as positive as this kid).

I remember writing in my journal senior year (I know, dorky!) that I didn't know what would happen to us once college started, but that if we broke up, I was already jealous of the girl that would get to be with him.

Well, thank goodness I still get to be that girl!

Happy 21st Travis Nelson

*P.S There will probably be another birthday post soon..look out mama!*

A bad habit..

Blog world, I have a bad habit to confess. I am confessing it on here so that I have no excuses.

Ready?

I am bad at asking people to hang out.

Sounds silly I know, but it is a bad habit I have and gosh darn it I will try to fix it! I don't know why but there are only a few people that I have no problem asking to hang out with me. Other than that, I wait for others to ask me first. I don't know, I guess I don't want to bother people and maybe it's also a fear of rejection but it is kind of weird when I think about it. Why are humans so weird about this kind of stuff?! Even just typing it out makes me realize how silly I am. Alas, we all have our weird tendencies and that is one of mine.

And that is my confession.

What is your weird bad habit?

Things Things Things

- I am really diggin' no Tuesday/Thursday class because it means I get lots of work done

-I go home next weekend, I can't wait!!!

- Travis bought me a hot fudge sundae from Sonic on Tuesday...you know that saying, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach"? Well, I think that is true for women too.

- I bought a new jar of crunchy peanut butter this past weekend and half of it is already gone. What can I say? A spoonful of peanut butter is my go-to snack.

- Finding an internship is stressing me out more than I'd like to say. (How am I supposed to show that I am experienced when an internship is about getting experience?)

-New chef at the house is named Sue..."Sue Chef"...get it? (I stole that joke)

- I am giving my first speech in my public speaking class tomorrow. I'm speaking about Tina Fey, naturally.

And now, I leave you with a quote that I have really liked this week:

"Sometimes the only way forward is to walk away, you cannot win every battle, you must remove yourself to live another day."
